What do my results mean?Updated 2 hours ago
FSH result | What it suggests |
|---|---|
10 mIU/mL or lower | Normal FSH for ovarian reserve. This doesn't rule out a lower reserve; only a full diagnostic workup can do that. |
Between 10 and 25 mIU/mL | Elevated FSH and a possible risk of diminished ovarian reserve. Consider a fertility consult, which may include bloodwork and a pelvic ultrasound. |
Above 25 mIU/mL | You may be transitioning into menopause. Consult your doctor. |
Above 50 mIU/mL | Menopause has likely occurred or is close. Consult your doctor. |
Remember, a high FSH doesn't mean you can't conceive, and a normal FSH doesn't guarantee you'll conceive easily. FSH reflects egg quantity, not quality, and many factors affect fertility. Whatever your result, if your cycles are irregular or you have other reproductive health concerns, talk to your doctor.
